White Plains Council of Neighborhood Associations Celebrates Candyce Corcoran at July Toast & Roast Meeting

Outgoing Co-President Candyce Corcoran will be the guest of honor at the July Meeting of the White Plains Council of Neighborhood Associations (WPCNA), a farewell Toast & Roast for Candyce, who is moving to Nashville, TN.

White Plains, NY, July 2, 2009. Please join us at our July Meeting to Toast & Roast author, world traveler and civic activist Candyce Corcoran -- White Plains own Miss Effervescent -- who is leaving us to join husband Dave, now working in Nashville. The meeting will be held at Education House at 5 Homeside Lane in White Plains, NY at 7:00 pm (note the early start) on Tuesday, July 14, 2009. Admission is by invitation and seating is limited, so please RSVP to rsvp@wpcna.org .

Candyce, who retired from the world of finance to raise two sons, has been active in community service all her life, starting as a St. Agnes Hospital candy striper at 12. Most recently, she's served as Co-President of the WPCNA and on the Executive Board of Rethinking Westchester.

Among Candyce's other activities have been the Little League, the Historical Society, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Council, Small Paws Rescue, and the Youth Advisory Board. She has also served as a Democratic District Leader, as Commander of the Westchester Power Squadron, and on other boards and committees.

Bring your stories, bring your jests. Help us pay tribute to (and poke a little fun at) a lifelong White Plains resident who's done our town a world of good!

Light dinner will be served. Guests are asked to bring a side or dessert. Please RSVP as soon as possible so the food and seating can be planned.

The WPCNA, which is an apolitical non-governmental organization, provides a citywide forum on education, safety, health, government, the environment, and open space. Its members are the autonomous neighborhood associations dedicated to preserving and improving the quality of life in White Plains.
